MMM MMM Good

John T. Dorrance was a brilliant chemistry student from Bristol, Pennsylvania. He went on to earn his doctorate degree and could have got a job anywhere he wanted. Several prestigious schools offered him teaching positions, but he turned them all down. His father was so upset he nearly disowned him. But John T. Dorrance had a vision. He had a sense of purpose in life. He knew what he wanted to do. So he took a job at a Camden, New Jersey company that was canning foods. His first week’s pay envelope contained only $7.50, but the low pay didn’t faze him in the least. He had a mission. He had a sense of purpose, and he worked steadily toward his goal of applying his knowledge of chemistry to a grand idea of canning concentrated soups. In time, he became the man who virtually single-handedly created Campbell’s Soups which has been putting hot soups on our tables for over 100 years. It only stands to reason that people with a purpose accomplish more than those who stagger from goal to goal without a clear sense of direction.

God has created us with a purpose. Romans 8:29, "For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

God created us to be conformed to the likeness of Christ. But how does He do that?

If we want to be like Christ, we’ve got to abide in His Word. He said in John 8:31—If you abide in My Word, you are my disciples indeed.

We also have to trust what He says - Then he said to them all, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me" (Luke 9:23). The more I follow Christ the more I become like him.

God also uses tasks to make us more like Christ. These tasks seem big and impossible but they drive us to reliance upon him. "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many" (Mark 10:45).

God's purpose is that I become like Christ and He uses truth, trust and tasks to accomplish that purpose.

When we live for God's purpose we glorify God. And our lives become MMM MMM Good. (Sorry couldn't help myself).

HIRAM HERE
Right on, brother!!
Romans 8 is the best! It really speaks! ...predestined by God to be conformed to Christ's likeness. "We are to be like Him" is a phenominal promise just like in 2 Peter 1:4 to be partakers of "His divine nature". WOW! HUH? CRAZY, AGAIN, HUH?
