There are some Christian people who have heavy cream faith and lite works. That just doesn’t make sense, right?
A few years ago, Leadership magazine came out with a pretty funny cartoon. It was called, “The LITE Church”. It was a picture of a church sign with the following tenets of faith on it.
· The Lite Church: 24% Fewer Commitments.
· Home of the 7.5% tithe.
· 7 out of 10 commandments – your choice.
· Fifteen-minute sermons, forty-five-minute worship services.
· We use just three spiritual laws.
Everything you’ve wanted in a church … and less!

Unfortunately that cartoon paints an accurate picture. Many people today are looking for a “lite church,” a “lite faith,” and a “lite" commitment. James writes, “…Faith without deeds is dead” (James 2:26). Allow me to offer my paraphrase of that verse. “Heavy cream faith and skimmed milk works do not make sense” (PTV – Pastor Tim version).
Pour into your life heavy faith in God and pour out of your life heavy works for Him. God will get the glory and your life will taste a lot better.
No LITE, just LIGHT,
Pastor Tim
