Weekend Review - May 12-13

Letting God Change Me
2 Corinthians 3:18
And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
There are 3 important things to remember about change from this verse:
1. We are changing to look like Christ.
2. Change comes from the Lord.
3. Change is a process.

Ephesians 4:20-27
20 You, however, did not come to know Christ that way. 21 Surely you heard of him and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. 22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.25 Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body. 26 “In your anger do not sin”Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27 and do not give the devil a foothold.
Principles of change in my life:
1. Cherish the truth in my life - verses 20-21.
2. Choose to put off the old self - verse 22.
3. Continue to renew my mind - verse 23.
4. Constantly depend on the Holy Spirit - verse 24.
5. Connect with others in honest community - verse 25.
6. Carefully avoid giving the devil an opportunity - verses 26-27.

A caterpillar was born to fly but it has to change first.  You were born to fly with God, but it requires letting God change me.
