That's what we plan to do this weekend at EVC.
President Bush addressed the nation that day with these words:
America and our friends and allies join with all those who want peace and security in the world, and we stand together to win the war against terrorism. Tonight, I ask for your prayers for all those who grieve, for the children whose worlds have been shattered, for all whose sense of and security has been threatened. And I pray they will be comforted by a power greater than any of us, spoken through the ages in Psalm 23, "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me."
Prayers - we plan to practice that this weekend. For the families who still grieve. For our Fire Fighters who run into trouble while others run from it. For our Police Officers who protect us from evil and put their lives on the line everyday. For our military men and women who are still fighting terrorism. For our nation to return to the place where God is recognized and worshipped. Our only hope is that God is with us and for us!
Some people see a hopeless end for our community. But with God, we see an endless hope! Please join us this weekend at EVC as we celebrate the great news that there is hope to be discovered even in the midst of a tragedy.
Hope prevails and brings new life!
