National Day of Prayer

I'm getting ready this morning to attend the Pastor's prayer breakfast at City Hall. Pastors from all around the City are gathering to pray for our nation, state and city. We will be joined by our Mayor and other City officials for the sole purpose of imploring God to guide and direct us. God is always willing to guide His people. The question is, are we willing to be guided?
The Bible commands us to practice praying for our leaders. Paul commands Timothy, "I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone; for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth" (1 Timothy 2:1-4).
I trust you will spend some time today praying for our country, our state, our city and our elected officials who govern us.
We will be praying in front of the City Rotunda tonight at 7 p.m. Our worship team will be leading in songs of praise to our God. I hope you can out and join the prayer meeting.
May God continue to bless us as we continue to acknowledge Him in all our ways.
