There’s an often over-looked word in the Bible that appears over 4,600 times. It’s a small word. It’s a word that is usually connected with God’s promises. It’s a word that is easy to define but sometimes difficult to believe. It’s one of the greatest words in the Bible. The word? ALL.
I’ve often said, “All means all and that’s all, all means.” It means entirely. It means completely. I want to share a few of the places in the Bible where this word is especially valuable to us. I want to challenge you to memorize these verses. I want you to say these verses out loud, and when you do, punch the word ALL. Emphasize it. Underscore it.
This word is important in these tough times we’re living in. Emphasis on this word gives us hope, keeps us positive, it encourages us during these discouraging times. So here are a few examples for you to commit to memory.
I Peter 5: 7 – “Cast ALL your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
All of your anxiety, not just some.
Psalm 23:6 – “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me ALL the days of my life.”
I don’t know how long I’m going to live, but God’s mercy and goodness will follow me everyday that I do.
1 John 1:7 – “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from ALL sin.”
If you think there’s a sin in your life that God won’t forgive; you haven’t believed the word all.
Matthew 6:33 – “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and ALL these things will be given you as well.”
Go after God and His kingdom first and every one of our physical, spiritual, emotional and relational needs will be met. ALL of them!
Philippians 4:19 – “And my God will meet ALL your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.”
Romans 8:28 – “And we know that in ALL things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
All things work together for my good in God’s unfolding providence over my life.
Romans 8:37 – “No, in ALL things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”
If you’re feeling defeated in an area of your life…believe the word ALL.
2 Corinthians 9:8 – “And God is able to make ALL grace abound to you, so that in ALL things at ALL times, having ALL that you need, you will abound in every good work.”
There’s a lot of all in that verse. All I get out of this verse is really all I need.
Christ is our all-in-all. We can cast all our cares on Him. His goodness and mercy follow us all the days of our lives. He cleanses all our sin. As we seek Him first, He adds to us all we’ll ever need. He meets all our needs. He can do all things. He makes all things work together for good in our lives. He is able to make all grace abound toward us, that we, always having all sufficiency, may always abound in every good work. Receive the word ALL into your mind and into your heart. Believe it. Hang on to it. Just one word from God can keep me encouraged in discouraging times.
God is good ALL the time,
Pastor Tim
