Small groups from Psalm 133

Read Psalm 133 again. It is good and pleasant when people live together in unity. People who are focused on going up into God's presence to worship Him find blessing and life. As the people of Israel gathered to walk up into the presence of God, David knew that was spiritually good for the people and emotionally pleasant for them. It's good for us as well. When we gather with the common purpose of focusing on the Lord that brings unity. A. W. Tozer wrote in his book, The Pursuit of God the following: "Has it ever occurred to you that one hundred pianos all tuned to the same fork are automatically tuned to each other? They are of one accord by being tuned, not to each other, but to another standard to which each one must individually bow. So one hundred worshipers [meeting] together, each one looking away to Christ, are in heart nearer to each other than they could possibly be, were they to become 'unity' conscious and turn their eyes away from God to strive for closer fellowship." We are more closely united when we are focusing together on the Lord. The best place to develop this unity is in a small group. At EVC we believe small groups are the key to growing in our relationship with the Lord. It is our hope that everyone will be involved in a group that meets regularly for the purpose of focusing on the Lord through the Word, through prayer and through mutual Christian care for one another. You'll find it to be a good and pleasant experience. You will be blessed as others share their spiritual lives with you and you will find that God commands a blessing there, life forevermore. Check out our website to find out more about small groups and how you can participate at www.evcsj.com

More of God's goodness and grace to you.
